I'm now 5 days post op for bilateral Lasik. At follow-up exam on day after surgery, the doctor stated that I'm showing signs of over correction (+1.0 I think is the amount?)in both eyes, yet my best vision for distance was one line above 20/40 on the eye chart. My distance vision has only slightly improved since then and I'm definitely having difficulty reading and working on the computer.
This leads to a couple of questions for the forum:
1) How much regression over the next several months is typical that may resolve the farsightedness by itself, and is there medications that can assist? My doctor hinted that he may adjust my medications and requested that I return a couple of days earlier than the normal 1 week post op exam.
2) Is the blurry distance vision consistent with overcorrection? Should I expect my distance vision to improve to atleast the 20/40 level?

Final question: if the hyperopia does not resolve, should I consider requesting the use of a Laser that has been approved for hyperopia correction for any enhancement surgery? The original laser was the Nidek EC-5000.

Additional information: my pre-op prescription was -4.5 in both eyes and no significant astigmitism.
