I had LASIK performed one year ago. I still experience starbursting at night which hasn't subsided one bit during the past year. It is not bad enough to prevent me from driving but is darn annoying. I tried Alphagan, but it gives me a nasty headache. During my pre-op evaluation my pupils were measured (Covard in the dark) at 5 mm each. My prescription was -3. in each eye. My treatment zone was 6 mm. At my one-year post op I requested that my pupils be remeasured and the same 5 mm value was obtained. All these point to having no nightime problems, yet I still have them. Doctor has no real explanation. Anyone of the doctors out there have a patient with the same issues? If so what are the options?

Thanks,

KAD

Besides giving you a headache, did the Alphagan improve your vision? Have you tried the newer Alphagan P? It is supposed to have fewer side effects (such as headaches).

Did your original prescription have a lot of astigmatism? What laser was used?

The Alphagan worked very well, there are no nightime starbursts when I use it (I get the same effect by turning on the inside dome light in the car). Have not tried the P version though I have a subscrption for it. I plan to use it only if I will be doing a lot of night time driving or star gazing.

I had absolutely no astigmatism. The Laser used was an Autonomous Apex (I think).
