It appears that what you are talking about is whether or not you should have a convention laser ablation (Technolas 217) or a wavefront-guided ablation (Technolas 217z Zyoptix) for your PRK after RK.
The key to a good wavefront ablation is good wavefront data. Eyes that are extremely aberrated or have scaring from previous surgery may provide poor data. It is the old adage that garbage in often means garbage out. Since the laser is guided by the data from the wavefront reading, you will want to be assured that the aberrometer was able to get a good reading.
Assuming that the aberrometer was able to get good data, then study after study has shown that wavefront-guided ablations provide better outcomes than conventional ablations. BTW, PRK and similar surface ablations with wavefront provide better outcomes than LASIK with wavefront in virgin eyes.
