Since I have had lasik surgery, a month and a half ago, I can't stand light. I have a horrible time at work and I have to squint outside even on cloudy days wearing sunglasses. Has anyone had this problem and is there a soulution?

Hi Candy,
I just posted the same question a couple of days ago. I'm about 3 1/2 months post intralase procedure and I'm having the same problem. My eye doctors promises this will go away in 3 - 6 months. Did your sensitivity develop immediately after surgery or was it a couple of weeks?? I have progressed from wearing two pair of shades at a time and wearing them while watching TV and using the computer to only wearing one pair outside and while using the computer. IT HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE!! I was not sensitive to light until about a month after surgery. When the sensitivity first began, my eyes burned, I had a runny nose; it was like I was having an allergic reaction to light. It has improved significantly and some days are better than others. And yes, I wear my shades even when it is raining. I have found a little info on the web about this complication and it states that the sensitivity does usually resolve in 3 months to 1 year. Hope this helps you feel better.
Lisa

have you asked your doctor its causes and solutions? Maybe gradual acclimation to light will ease the senestivity. When I wake up and use the computer, the monitor hurts my eyes for a moment till I get used to it. It takes longer if I go outside. Once my pupils adjust to light, im fine
