I am a healthy 44 year old with myopia and astimatism. I have had retinal tears in both eyes over the past 2 years. Both involved scleral buckles and vitrectomy. I am back to 20/20 correctable and 20/40 in my left correctable. Although I assume I am not a good candidate for lasik I am wondering if extended/daily wear contacts would be ok (I am 4 months post op). I am concerned that anything sitting on my eye might not be a good idea and the recovery on this surgery has been rotten. I would not want to go through it again. !Thanks

with your retina problems, I most certainly would not touch lasik because of the suction cap increasing intraoccular pressure. If you can tolerate contacts, why risk surgury?
