My 42yo husband has horrible eyesight.
I don't know his prescription off hand but if he were wearing glass lenses, he would have coke bottle glasses! He does not have bi-focals or tri-focals.
He does have a severe astgmatism and at his last eye appointment was told he has retinal detachment and should watch for floaters as he could loose his eyesight so at that point would need to have corrective surgery.

Since he has such bad eyesight, combined with retinal detachment and astigmatism, would he be a candidate for Lasik at all?

If not Lasik, is there any other type of surgery that he may be a candidate for to improve his eyesight like PK, Lasek, implanted lenses or anything?

If he isn't a candidate for anything now, is there new up and coming procedures in the forseeable future?

I don't mind his glasses but I would much rather see his whole face and he doesn't like his glasses although he is used to them.

Thanks
