I had my right flap lifted 3 months ago because of DLK. I went to my doctor today, and they said that I now have some hyperopia in that eye. I have some questions. 1. That means that I have had corneal melting, and thus there is permanent damage, doesn't it? 2. Another doctor I went to for a second opinion a couple of months ago said that I had a straie in my right eye, and that there is no permanent damage to my eye. Why did he say that I had no permanent damage when I do, and why has my current doctor not told me about the straie in my eye? I think I know the answer to that question, but I want to hear opinions. 3. My right eye is slightly hyperopic and has irregular astigmatism, and my left eye is slightly myopic. What can be done? 4. Should I wait a year before doing anything? 5. If I need custom ablation, should I wait until that technology has been out for a couple of years before getting it done?
I have trouble reading because of the distortion in my right eye. This is messing up my life.
