I had PRK in February 2001. After my month check up I had 20/30 vision. When I was going to go back for my three month check up I found out hte center I had been going to closed down no notice. I then went back to see my regular doctor. I need a prescription now for my eyes. Which I can handle. However, my fear is this haze. Everyday it seems to get worse. Expecially using rewetting drops and after I cry. I suppose to see my regular eye doctor again next week. But what do I do about this haze. Is there a surgeon I can see in the Los Angeles area? Any recommendations on treatment, drops or otherwise. I fear I'm going blind. Please help!

If I was having PRK problems where you live, Jim Salz is the doc I would go to. Also visit this website for a lot of good info. http://www.surgicaleyes.org/

I went to go seen Dr. James Salz. he is recommending a new surgery called Mitomycin. He gave me a lot of information, but does anybody else know anything more about it? The surgery is suppose to relieve the haze in my eyes.

Click on the Surgical Eyes link I have provided on this thread. In top right of bulletin board, click on "search" Type in mitomycin as a search word. Click "Perform search" 12 links will appear for you to explore.
I am curious. What was your pre-op prescription? Were you on a decreasing dose of FML drops post-op for at least a 2-3 month period? Have you been wearing good sunglasses post-op to protect your eyes from UV rays? What laser was used?

This is an interesting article. What color are your eyes? Mine are blue. Haze post PRK has never been an issue for me and I had 124 microns ablated OS and 134 microns ablated OD.

My pre-op prescription was at a -8. The doctor that I met with post-op told me to stop taking the FML drops about 6 weeks after. Should I have continued? I constantly wore sunglasses whenever I was outside. As far as I know they were good protectors. When I tried the link, it said that there was no word search for mitomycin.

I actually took the drops for about two months. I went back to my records and checked. I also do not know what size the laser was. Although I do have a light brown eye. That was an interesting article. Thanks.
