Hey All - I had surgery 4 days ago and developed a case of DLK the day after surgery. At first I thought it was just a grittiness that was present due to the healing process. At my post op appointment my eyes were quite swollen so they didn't know what it was for sure, a wrinkle or DLK. I was told to take my steriods more often for the next two days and then returned yesterday for a check up. They confirmed it was DLK but that it had healed significantly since my 24 hour post op appointment. Today it's feeling even better and I'm hoping it's almost gone. I achieved 20/15 in the eye with DLK right after surgery so I am hoping I will not lose vision as a result. I'm guessing I had a very mild case of it. I am not sure how I got it but I read that it might have come from some bruises I had on both eyes. One of the bruises developed some particles that took a few days to go away. I have read other theories but I am not going to worry since it's going away and my doctors are not concerned. This Friday I go for my 1 week appointment. I hope to get the good news that it's gone and that my vision is still 20/15. My other eye got 20/20. KEEP THE FAITH. If you are still experiencing DLK baby your eyes until it's gone and try not to worry :)

Incase anyone was reading this thread. I went today for a check up and it's gone. Not to worry, mild cases will clear up with no affects to you're vision. My vision in the eye in question is 20/15 currently.

Diffuse Lamellar Keratitis (DLK) can be resolved in almost every case if it is properly diagnosed and quickly treated. The common treatment is a regime of steroid eye drops.
DLK can occur when the Lasik flap is disrupted. If ever you get whacked upside the head, be sure to have your refractive surgeon verify that your corneas are healthy.
