Hi,
I did read the FAQ about the specific problem
i probably having but it got me very confused.
Yesterday i had my one month post-op check up.
It got me concern. The Dr. said my right eye is
great, but the problem is with my left eye.
My vision in that eye is very blurry and far
from being sharp(tested it to be 20/60).
She told me i have wrinkle on this flap, and
thats the cause for my bad vision...
But i want to add that she said she doesnt worry
about it at all because its minor and i need
wait two more month and if thing wont get any
better she will open the flap and "wash" it.
She didnt want to talk about an enhancement yet but she told me there will be no problem to do
that).
After Consulting with sevral people, they told
me i need to take care of the wrinkle immediatly.
or get second opinion.
I really trust my Dr. and i'm sure she knows what
she's doing... so why isnt she hurry to fix that?
Can anybody help me with this confusion?
As i said, i'm one month post-op so am i really
doomed to have bad vision in my left eye?
Thanks for any advice.

You should talk to your doctor about your concerns. In my experience, wrinkles in flaps are best treated early by lifting and replacing the flap after irrigation. Good luck.

It is possible that the wrinkle, although present, may not be responsible for the decreased vision. The corneal topography may be helpful in determining if there are other causes, in addition to an under-response or over-response to the treatment on your part. I agree with Dr. Ofner completely on both counts...if it is a significant wrinkle, it should be corrected immediately, and also, PLEASE DISCUSS YOUR CONCERNS OPENLY WITH YOUR DOCTOR. He or she should be more than happy to go through his or her thought process with you.
Hope this helps.

Meny,
I too had wrinkles in my left eye. My doctor thought we should remove them while his associate said not to. He sent me for a third and fourth opinion and all said to remove them. Well, 2 days ago, (3weeks post op) I had them removed. Wow, what a difference! I went from 20/40 to 20/20! I would recommend having wrinkles removed before they can't be removed. It's worth it just to try, even if they do not come out, at least you know that you didn't loose out on an opportunity. Good luck!

I had Lasik surgery 24 days ago. Seven days after the operation I was told I had wrinkles and had my cornea's re-opened and irrigated. My vision is still severely blurred and I can barely read. Now I am told I have fluid under my flap and "it will take time". I was a bit concerned about the relifting of the flaps and hoped that the procedure would be the "miracle" procedure I was looking for. No luck yet here!
