I had a wrinkle smoothing procedure done a week ago Thursday (at four weeks post-lasik). The next day my vision was a wonderful 20/40 and I couldn't have been happier. The following day I was starting to have trouble seeing again, and still am. At the one-week follow up I was told the flap looked great but I remain over-corrected to about +3. My question is: why was my vision so clear the day after the flap was smoothed, and now so blurry again?

The vision after a flap smoothing can be very variable initially due to swelling of the flap and other healing factors. It is best to give the eye some time to settle in (at least a month) to determine if any enhancement will be necessary. I have had some patients who can take up to six months to get stable vision post flap smoothing, it sounds like yours was not too severe and seems to be doing well.
Be patient and good luck
