I just discovered today that my insurance company (Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Connecticut) has contracted with a company, TruVision, Inc. out of Utah, to provide low-cost refractive surgery. I called them & they made an appointment for me with a physician in my area, Dr. Jeffrey Gold. I went to his website at www.clearchoicelaser.com and he seems very good to me, but I know absolutely nothing about this! Dr. Gold's Office set my preoperative appointment for January 7th, insisting that I not wear my gas permeable contacts for three months before my exam (I've worn them for 30 years). That reassured me a lot, however, when I mentioned it to someone at work, they became quite concerned and said that you have to do MUCH more research than I have done & that I might even have to go out of state to find a qualified doctor!! However, if it weren't for my insurance company's special program, I'd never be able to afford this! If I post the doctor's biography below, can someone tell me if this is good? Or not? (P.S. this biography may be outdated, over the phone they mentioned he had done over 2000 Lasik procedures) Thanks!
