Hello. I had the lasik surgery back in January of this year. I am still having problems with my flaps not completely healing. A couple of weeks ago part of my flap in my right eye came off which caused an infection and discomfort for about three days until the flap grew back. It's unknown how or why this happened. The surgeon has treated that eye and we are continuing the treatment. I saw him yesterday and he thought my left eye was also not healing correctly and we have started a treatment for that eye as well. My question/questions are: Is this taking an unusual amount of time to heal? Will the flaps ever heal? What happens if they don't heal? I'm not sure if I should get another opinion or if I should continue with the treatments and see what happens. My surgeon said he has not seen or heard of anyone taking this long for the flaps to heal. I don't know if anyone has ever had this problem or if I'm the first. I have had problems with my vision in my right eye since the surgery. Double vision, blurred vision and poor night vision are some of the problems. This is why I have continued my follow up appointments this far after the surgery. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.
