The Department of Health in Washington State just put up a new web site that provides lookups of Health Care providers to see if there have been any negative issues with them:
https://fortress.wa.gov/doh/hpqa1/
I just got evaluated at Lomas Eye Care yesterday and found this today:
In July, the Medical Quality Assurance Commission charged Richard W. Lomas, M.D. (MD 8570) with unprofessional conduct. The doctor performed two separate surgeries that allegedly caused one patient to become blind in the left eye and another to suffer permanent visual damage.
I'm trying to check out some other doctors, but so far this site is hammered - mostly "The request cannot be processed at this time. The amount of traffic exceeds the Web site's configured capacity."

Thanks for the information. This is a great site. I wish they would have had it before my Lasik surgery!

All states have a licensing agency that handles misconduct issues. We have a listing of these under "Medical Boards of the US" on our Selected Links section at http://www.usaeyes.org/faq/links.html.
