I have been researching laser procedures for the past month. It has been very difficult to find the answers I am looking for. Here is the problem:
I have recently seen 2 surgeons regarding Laser surgery both are "top" surgeons in my State one uses the Ladarvision system the other VISX Star S3. Both have told me that how exceptional their lasers are. I have found that both lasers are indeed great but have no knowledge in what "conditions" one or the other are best suited for. I am a patient with thin corneas (I was told 5% thinner than most) but not so thin that I require PRK I also have a mild/slight astigmatism in my left eye -3.25 -5.0 axis 150
and the right eye is -4.00 I have also been informed after wavefront analysis that I have HOA ( apparently most do ) I already have vision that is not 100% corrected with glasses or contacts due to the HOA and have some difficulty seeing at night. I am trying to determine which procedure might be the best for me as so not to worsen the HOA for night time driving. I have been told that I have a increaased chance of the HOA worsening if I have the procedure done with the VISX vs. the LADARVISION does anyone know if this is correct. Any information I can get concerning these lasers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so very much.
