I live in SF but work in Palo Alto.
My regular eye doctor is affiliated with the Turner Eye Institute, ran by a surgeon named MD Stephen G. Turner. Heard the name on radio commercial, but when I search online, I cant find a THING about him. Not even a photo or his bio on his website.
I read a lot about Dr. Manche of Stanford. Can anyone give me info on either Dr. Turner or Dr. Manche?
I am -8.5 contacts, which = -10.0 Rx.

I can highly recommend Dr. Manche who is the head of Refractive surgery at Standford, has publihsed many articles on refractive surgery and has been involved in several FDA Laser Vision studies.

In your case, I would definitely recommend Dr. Turner over Dr. Manche. Dr. Turner has more experience with high prescription cases, such as yours, and would make the best recommendation about your treatment. His results are excellent. You can find his web site at www.turnereye.com. It doesn't hurt though to visit both doctors as they both have good reputations and then decide who will provide the treatment that you want.

Eric,
I know both surgeons well and would trust their opinions on your case. I practice in the South Bay (San Jose) and perform refractive surgery as well. My prescription was similar to yours before my LASIK in 1998.
We all perform state of the art surgery, so helping you to decide on which surgeon to go with is a personal choice. I'd be happy to see and evaluate you as well.
