I had lasik surgery one week ago. Monovision.
I have no problem with my reading eye (right eye) and am very pleased with that. My distance vision is still a little blurry. It has improved but is not as sharp as I would like. Does this continue to improve with time or will I need an enhancement. Is it possible that my left eye was under corrected? When will I know for sure?

At one week postop it is way too early to come to any conclusions about what will be your final outcome. Lasik is often more of a six month process than a 20-Minute Miracle. It is reasonable to expect improvement.

If your distance vision is clear when you look only through the eye corrected for distance, but is blurry when you look at distant objects with both eyes, then the blurry vision is an artifact of the monovision and will undoubtedly improve over the next 4-6 weeks.

If you cover your eye corrected for near vision and use only the eye corrected for distance vision, are you able to see objects clearly at any distance? As an example; is very near poor, mid-distance excellent, and distance vision poor? If you have a range of good vision, then this would indicate that you may be under or overcorrected in this eye. This is not a hard and fast rule because presbyopia will cause you to have poor vision too.

Ask your surgeon to explain in detail why you have the vision difficulties you are experiencing. That is the person who can evaluate your eyes directly.

thank you for your reply. I do have a 2-week check-up coming up on the 20th. My distance vision does seem to getting better very slowly, but it is not as clear as my near vision. Middle vision is blurry and dimly lit places are hard. I guess I need to be patient getting use to monovision.
