I am a 39 y.o. female and I had lasik in 2000. Three months after the procedure I was noticing brief periods of partial blurred vision in my right eye along with a "pulling feeling", along with a permanent enlargement of the pupil size in my left eye (about 1-2mm larger). At one point, when my vision was blurred, I looked in the mirror and was shocked to see that my pupil was shaped like an upside down teardrop. I immediately called my doctor who had me come to his office, by the time I got there, it had returned to normal shape. I timed the episodes and they rarely lasted longer than one minute, although the shape would vary (oval, teardrop, cateye, in all directions). I did, however, manage to take pictures of the distortion. This went on for about three years, I had many eye exams, neurological test and 2 MRI's which all showed normal findings, I was ultimately diagnosed with atypical occular migraines (although I didn't get headaches with the disturbances) and received no medicinal treatment. The occurances subsided after chiropractic adjustments for lower back and neck pain and I haven't had an episode in almost 3 years. I still have the enlarged left pupil and notice that my eyes seem to remain dilated even when it is bright and my right pupil will sometimes have a slightly irregular shape. Any thoughts as to what could be going on? I am curious if my diagnosis is correct or if there could be a relationship between my symptoms and the lasik, I was told there was none. Thank you for your thoughts.
