I would like to know more about the tracking system that LASIK uses for eye movements.

Specifically, I rememeber that my left eye was drifting alot during the surgery and the blinking light ended up being in the top left of my view for most of the surgery. Now my right eye is better than my left and I cant help but think that maybe that had something to do with it.

If eye was not centered, did the laser have to work at an angle?? or does the source move around on 2 coordinates?

basically, im looking for some evidence that convinces me that I didnt screw up my surgery by moving my eye around too much.

thanks
Jordan

bump.

I had my lasik a couple of days ago and the same thing happened to me. I had trouble focusing on the center of the red light when they lifted the flap, and I ended up focusing on the lower right-hand edge of the red light speckles, or just outside of the red light. Things moved so fast that I didn't want to shift my focus mid surgery to force myself to stare in the center of the red light. I also noticed that my eyes twitched slightly in a manner i couldn't control, though i kept focus on relatively the same spot.

My left eye is also not sharp like my right eye.

Is this my fault?

Hey Anna. It's too bad that we never received a reply on this, but I asked my eye dr this question at my last visit and he promised me that this wouldnt matter and if this were a problem, "they'd be out of business." But i still cant help but wonder

You'll be happy to know that after about 2-3 weeks my left eye cleared up some, but my right eye is still better. I think my left eye is at about 20/30 and my right eye is at least 20/20.

if you want to talk more about it, you can email me at
