I am 65 years of age and wore glasses for 40 of those years. I was forced to have cataract surgery or would still be wearing glasses. Over the past 6 or more months I have had Crystalens surgery and all of the follow-ups involved. I am now scheduled for corrective work which is paid for and a part of my Crystalens agreement. What the opthamologists wants to do is an LRI in my left non-dominant undercorrected reading eye and LASIK on my right eye that needs some correction to improve my distance vision.
My current prescription with Crystalens is
right -1.00 sphere +0.50 cylinder 60 axis
left -1.75 sphere +1.00 cylinder 110 axis
bifocal left and right +2.00
I want the best possible vision whether I wear glasses or not. I will have to wear sunglasses outside anyway so why not just have prescription ones? Don't I run the risk of having some glare in headlights at night after my cornea is disrupted with LASIK?
In addition is it a good idea to be doing both eyes at the same time?
I am about to decide not to have anymore surgeries even though they are free and just get some glasses.
What do you think?

It is unlikely that LASIK would give you better vision than you have
with glasses and there is always the risk of making things worse. If
your quality of vision is good and you do not mind wearing glasses
I would not consider additional surgery simply because it is free.

I just had enhancement and wish I would have left well enough alone and popped a contact. Scared I have messed up my vision. Think twice and continue to read the problems people have on this post, then make your decision being fully aware that if things go wrong, you will have to live with it.

Thanks for the input. I alreadly have a cheap pair of glasses ordered and have decided to leave things alone. Hopefully your situation will clear up. Oftentimes, from what I have heard from others and things I have read, it takes a while. I guess there is good reason why one has to sign all of those consent forms and sit through those caveat videos.
