it has been since July 6, 2006. I think my eyes were around a -5.25. I opted for monovision. I am 50 years old so reading was also a problem and I was wearing progressive lenses in my glasses.
After surgery reading is pretty good, but distant vision is still blurry. Much better than before but not as clear as when I wore glasses. I asked for an eyeglass Rx for driving especially at night. I have noticed my vision is very dimished in low light. An evening stroll can be a little scary. Is there improvement to be expected or have I been under corrected? I am 1 1/2 post op.
Thank you

If you had tried monovision in contact lenses for at least six weeks before your surgery and the surgery achieved the same refractive error you had with contacts, then your described vision difficulties would indicate an irregularity of the cornea such as regular astigmatism or possibly spherical aberration, which means that there is a difference in refractive error at the outer edge of your cornea when compared to the center.
If you did not try monovision in contact lenses for at least six weeks, then you may be adjusting to the effect.
If the surgery did not achieve the desired goal, then that goal may be met with additional healing or your doctor may recommend enhancement surgery to fine tune the correction.
