is it possible or will it be possible soon, to be unconcious for this surgery? i really really hate things near my eyes or touching my eyes. i know it sounds stupid as the surgey only takes a couple minutes, but its just how i am. so if i could be out for it that would really be best for me.

A general anesthetic is very difficult on the body and no doctor would prescribe a general if it was not absolutely necessary.
Your eye is fully numbed during the procedure.

I was anxiuos about the procedure and it was really for nothing. You don't feel a thing during the survey and it's over before you know it. I would also recommend taking the valium they offer a while before your surgery as it will calm your nerves and help get you though it - not to mention it aids in the sleeping process for when you are at home napping. I personally thought the procedure was kinda cool - like seeing fireworks. You simply stare at a flashing red light for a minute or so in each eye and you're done. You'll probably never experience anything like this again so try and enjoy it, if that's possible lol.
