At this point things are bad for me. This morning I can really only guess as to what I am typing on the computer. I can't see the screen in front of me nor can I even make out the keys on the keyboard.
This is very depressing. I don't know what to do. My vision is so poor I feel like I should be back in my glasses. I know for a fact I could see better than this before the procedure when I took my glasses off and I was a -3.25/left and -5.25/right.
My epi-lasik procedure was on the 23rd of August and I have not been able to see well since. There hasn't been a moment where my vision was even close to good.
What really gets me is the doctor tod me the people he did the same day with standard lasik are seeing fine now, so why did he highly recommend I get epi-lasik?
He is becomming aggrivated with me even in the followup appointments and telling me to just wait. What he doesn't understand is that I can't wait three to six months to be able to see at a functioning level. At this point I am getting migraines again from my eye sight that start as yellow flashes in my peripheral vision and move inwards then I can't see at all and begin getting naucious.
Night vision is bad, I see a downward "V" under all light sources and it makes it very difficult to drive.
What do I do? Where do I turn? I used my bonus to get the procedure done so I don't have money to pay another doctor to fix something that this one goofed up if he did. I am so depressed now because my life is pretty well shot. I can't go for a bike ride, can't fly radio controlled airplanes because I can't see them, can't ride my motorcycle, can BARELY drive to work where I can't see anything.
Is there a doctor out there that can give me some advice? Please.

I'm sorry you're having such a bad experience. If I remember correctly, my vision was blurry for about 2 weeks after I got the lasik. It cleared up but I still need glasses as my vision didn't get corrected all the way. I don't think I'll be getting an enhancement as too much could go wrong since I have glaucoma. Anyway, your vision may clear up in time. Be patient.

Well things are still bad. I am getting the headaches from eye strain a lot and can hardly see my monitor with the reading glasses my doctor gave me.
This has pretty much gotten to the point where my quality of life has decreased. I cannot fly my planes, can't program on the computer, can't browse the internet, can't do a lot of the things I had once done.
The procedure was on the 23rd of August and I have not seen an improvement in my vision but the doctor says things are great. I don't agree that even though I can read the vision chart I have good vision. There is no clarity, no sharpness, no ability to see contrasts, everything is shot.
At this point there is only one thing that helps get over it, rum.

Hi Mike - sorry to hear you are having problems. I had Lasik in June of this year, so I empathize with what you must be going through. I am told the healing process can take up to 6 months so if you only went August 23 it's probably too soon to tell, although I am not a doctor. I do know that my eyes felt very fragile and weak for the first 3 months, with vision flucuating from very sharp to blurry. Try to keep the faith, it could all still work out the way you want. Continue to use your refresh drops as dry eyes will only make your vision worse. Good luck.

My doctor feels that my eyes are way too dry and wants to try the plugs. Last week Friday he put plugs in the lower eye lids to see if that would help. Because I didn't have enough moisture he decided to put them in the upper lids today and asked me to try Restasis samples.
I don't think I need the Restasis at this point since I am sitting here with tears coming out of my eyes every five minutes. This is most likely my eyes still getting used to them and who knows but I will go with it.
I am still using the Pred Forte four times a day as directed and he gave me Thera Tears as lubrication if I need them as well.
Generally he is being very patient with me and my concerns and doing about everything he can from my perspective. I realize he doesn't have a magic wand and beyond that is doing very well. Out of all the doctors I have been treated by for anything over the years I would say he is the best.

Mike - Try to remain calm. We all feel for you. I had a bad decentration on my right eye (the laser mishit) 10 years ago and for several months things seemed BAD. You have to muster all your strength to think positive and long term. Everyone here is right.....things will get better and generally speaking doctors are good people and do care. And try not to drink too much rum.....it'll make things worse. Dind things you can do for now to take your mind off your problem, focus your energy on finding a solution and find ways to reduce the pain and suffering like naps, walks, music etc. You ahve no coice but to overcome this so give it your best.

Well to update everyone I saw the doctor last week and this week and things are looking a little better on the left side.
During the appointments I was reading 20/20 with no problems on the left eye! The right has to catch up yet, about 20/40 or 20/50 yet.
He says there is a little clouding on the right eye and that even though the right eye is tearing a lot it is still very dry when he does a test on it. Seems to baffle him so he said to try the Thera Tears Liquid Gel drops to help keep more fluid on the eye so it isn't dry.
Using the Restasis and the Pred Foprte as directed and tears when needed too.
The left eye is certainly doing all the work right now and that causes some eye strain and headache but not too bad. He is working to see if the right eye will catch up or evaulate every week what to do. I don't think he thinks it needs an enhancement, just that there is a little clouding under the epithelium yet but it is getting better.
Hopefully the right will come around yet, still need to give it some time since it did have the epithelium removed after the procedure so I think that means more healing time.
Time will tell but if the right can be what the left is, WOW!

It is good to hear that your recovery is progressing. If the haze is at the epithelium, there is a very high probability that it will resolve on its own with healing.
Good tearing but dry eyes can indicate a poor lipid (oily) layer of the tear film. We have a detailed article about dry eye after laser surgery that you may find helpful http://www.usaeyes.org/lasik/faq/lasik-dry-eyes.htm
