I have heard before, that "the flap never heals", and asked my doctor about it. He says the flap does heal; in fact, if an enhancement is done a few years down the road, a new flap must be created, although it may be in the same place as before.
I have also read that on down the road, the healing can actually strengthen the cornea.
Has anyone else ever researched this?

I read on website that if a strong wind were to come your flaps could open up (worded more believably) This is ridiculous since in the 80's I was out in tropical storm force winds right before a hurricane before lasik and my contact lenses didn't even move so how in the world can this happen to flaps on your eyes. Of course you have to be really careful in the begining after lasik not to rub your eyes and follow your docs orders.
