I had lasik on my right (dominant) eye seven weeks ago this Saturday. They left my left eye along because my close-up vision is excellent (I am 55). I am very happy with the results, but should signs still be a little blurry? I went for a follow-up appt about 3-4 wks ago & am supposed to go again in December. They said I was seeing 20-20. Maybe they didn't fix my astigmatism. After seven weeks, is there still a chance it will clear up?

Most people stabilize around 1 to 2 months after LASIK. When you say that signs are still a bit blurry I assume you mean with just the distance eye. With both eyes together, there will definitely be some blur because of the near eye.

If your right eye is a bit blurry, it may be that you are not "perfectly" correct. Many people are not. Most people can see 20/20 even with mild residual refractive error. There are clear 20/20's and blurry 20/20's.

Just remember, however, that the idea of LASIK is to decrease (often dramatically) your dependence on glasses and contact lenses. It seems like this goal has been met.

I guess I am a "blurry 20-20." It seems worse after I've spent 8 hours on my computer & paperwork at work. Does that make the corrected eye see not quite as well? Compared to what I saw before without glasses, I am very happy with the results. Thank you for your response.
