What are the consequences of having Lasik eye surgery and having the "Dominant" eye corrected for close vision and the less dominant eye corrected for long?
A good friend of mine had this done and has been living a complete nightmare for over 6 months with headaches, blurred vision, major halos at night and loss of equilibrium and basically has been unable to work or function as a normal human being. We believe that the wrong eye might have been corrected for up close by mistake. From what I have researched it seems that for Monovision the "Dominant eye" is always the one that is corrected for long distance, am I wrong?
The good news is that she was treated up in Seattle , Washington today and had her right eye corrected back to long vision and already things are beginning to look "normal" again.
Also during the original procedure she was in an extreme amount of pain during the right eye laser treatment. Is that normal?
Thank you for your quick response and any infomration that you might be able to provide in this case which has turned into a total disaster for this lady, both physically and financially.
She was never even instructed to try and wear contacts before undergoing this treatment and everything was done in one day, both eyes and we have learned a big lesson from this. Never rush into such a big decision without doing a lot of research and testing before going under the "beam"
Best regards,
Steve
