Went for a lasik consultation and my doctor (who has monovision himself) recommended monovision with intralase. I have slight dry eye for which Restasis was prescribed. I am 44 and have not lost my close up vision yet. Doctor said he does not prescribe contacts to simulate monovision. I am conflicted as to whether to accept monovision without trying contacts first after reading posts on these boards. Doctor said that an enhancement could be performed if monovision is unsatisfactory, but I would prefer not to have another surgery. Any suggestions?
Thank you

I always try to simulate monovision with contacts for the smae reason that you state. I prefer to do one surgery and avoid a second one if possible. You may want to also have him simulate full correction with contacts if you already don't wear them. If he wants to be your surgeon, he should respect your decision to "test drive" monovision prior to surgery.
Good luck.
