I had monovision surgery done on 9/29/05 and have yet to see well. I have followed the doctor's instructions to the letter. Within a day or two after surgery, I was on prednisone (orally) for 5 days, plus pred forte drops for 2 weeks and lubricating drops several times a day. I have been on restasis for about 3 weeks also, and doxycycline for 2 weeks. I use gel lubricating drops at bedtime too.
My vision is blurriest when I am indoors, and the best I've seen was for 5 to 6 hours on any given day, usually when driving on a sunny day (maybe only 3 days since the surgery), and even then my vision was only about 50% of where I'd expect it to be.
My doctor does not seem concerned, and says that on a scale of 1 to 10, my eye dryness is only about a 4. If that is the case, why can't I see better? When I do see well, why is it followed by 3 more days of seeing blurry all day?
Fortunately, I am usually able to read books and newspapers with no problem, but even sitting 2 feet from the TV, my vision is blurry. I am understandably frustrated. Is there a light at the end of this very blurry tunnel?
Incidentally, I just turned 50, and I know of 3 other women around my age who also had this problem. All of them see 20/20 now, but can I expect the same result? At what point should I expect to have more good days than bad?

I had mono-vision done on 8/31/05.
Wore -.75 contacts on left and right I prior to Lasik.
The Dr. under-corrected my cose up eye (left). (Now at -1.25/-1.50) I can read the numbers on pagers when I couldn't before. But now I can't read books or my computer screen which I could before.
The Dr. over-corrected my distant eye (right). Now it is at +1.25/+1.50. This eye is also blurry for reading at any distance. Close-up or driving regardless of the contact they give me.
I got a 2nd opinion and will not go back to the first Dr. The 2nd Dr. wants to correct the blurry vision and the over-correction on my right eye. Might I suggest you get a 2nd opinion. Do you know what they strive for with the close up eye on mono-vision? (i.e., -.75, -1.00 etc.) Do you think I should be able to read books and my computer screen with my close-up eye or my distant eye? Right now I can't with either because they are both over-corrected and I can't get a direct answer from a Dr. Seeing the 2nd Dr. on Nov 16 again. (Need amount for Flex-Spending.)
Most everyone at my lcoation had the Lasik done with the 2nd Dr. and could see about 20/20 the first day. Besides me, there was only one other employee who didn't. Both he and I went to a different Dr. The 2nd Dr. uses Allegretto equipment. (Suppose to be more accurate.) The 1st used Bausch and Lomb.
