Alphagan P - Different Sized Pupils

I am currently living in Thunder Bay, Ontario working as an Air Ambulance pilot. I had PRK surgey in December of 2007.

I was -7.5 in both eyes before the surgery and have large pupils. I do have trouble seeing at night now. I see large halos, starbursts and ghosting in all low-light conditions. I was having a lot of trouble flying at night.

About six months ago my doctor prescribed Alphagan P for me to use. It has helped very much. I use it about 3 times a week whenever I have to fly at night. I did recently notice however that my pupils are different sizes. This is a new development. I have told my doctor and he assures me that it is probably the eye drops causing this. I am however worried because this is a symptom of a few other serious conditions. I went off the drops for about 2 weeks and there was still a difference. I don't experience any other symptoms relating to any neurological disorders including headaches or stiffness.

I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of Alphagan P causing different sized pupils?

Although I have not heard of it - it may be possible. As well - it is not always abnormal to have different sized pupils. I would see your doctor and make sure this is an isolated situation (that is - no other causes for different sized pupils)

best regards

Bill
