Edward E. Manche, MD, is the Director of Refractive Surgery at the Stanford Eye Laser Center and an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Stanford University School of Medicine. He is one of the few physicians in the world today who specializes in laser and surgical techniques for vision correction, and has personally performed thousands of procedures. He was recognized in 1998 as one of the top performing laser vision correction specialists in the United States. The breadth and depth of his knowledge has brought invitations for lectures from across the United States as well as internationally. As a visiting assistant professor of ophthalmology at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA, he devoted two additional years of specialized training and research in laser and refractive surgery and to develop new laser and refractive techniques for correcting nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. He spent two months at the King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital in Saudi Arabia, where he developed advanced laser and refractive surgical procedures. Dr. Manche has also published numerous articles, abstracts and book chapters on the subject of refractive surgery.
