Dr. Wu is the Director of the Refractive Surgery Service at the New England Eye Center and Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Tufts University School of Medicine. She edited the textbook Refractive Surgery and is a founding member of the LASIK Institute. She serves on the Executive Committee of the Refractive Surgery Interest Group and the Refractive Surgery Subcommittee of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. She also is a member of the Refractive Surgery Clinical Committee of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. She has participated in multiple clinical trials for PRK and LASIK and has trained hundreds of physicians nationwide. Her research interests include corneal wound healing after refractive surgery.
After she earned her BA from University of Michigan, Dr. Wu attended Ohio State University College of Medicine. She then did her internship at University of Michigan Medical Center and her residency in ophthalmology at Kellogg Eye Center at the University of Michigan. She did fellowships in Ocular Immunology and Uveitis, as well as Cornea and External Disease, at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. Dr. Wu is a surgeon with New England Eye Centers Cornea and Anterior Segment departments and Director of the Refractive Surgery Service.
