What are the visual results with LASEK versus LASIK
Most studies comparing LASEK to LASIK find that although the vision over the first few days is not as good with LASEK as with LASIK - by 2 weeks the vision is typically similar with both procedures.
What is LASEK?
LASEK (laser-Assisted Epithelial Keratemileusis) is basically a variation of PRK and LASIK. The technique involves sliding over a flap of epithelium (which is much thinner than a LASIK flap)- then applying the laser - and then sliding the epithelium back into place. Since the flap is very superficial, this technique avoids the risk of "LASIK flap complications"
