Over Correction (Surgically-induced hyperopia)?
As the accuracy of LASIK has increased over the past few years, the number of patients who end up over corrected (far-sighted) has decreased. Some patients who are initially over-corrected can have regression –so that if after surgery they had 1.5 diopters of hyperopia, it is possible that their eye would regress over the following 2-3 months to almost plano. If someone who is initially over-corrected does not have regression, then they can have an enhancement. procedure. The risks of an enhancement are similar to the risks of the original procedure.
