Trying to find some decent drops that give dry eye relief for longer than two minutes. These sound good but I live in UK. Can I buy them on the internet?

I've checked out this website, and e-mailed Dr. Holly with no reply. How do I order drops? Does anyone know?

I've tried Dakrina before, and they burned alot, I stopped using them. I am so desperate now, I'm willing to try again.

Steve,

Before using APL-105, did you try Dakrina, Dwelle, or Nutratear? If so, did they help you?

e-mail Dr. Holly at

He ships drops to others in the UK. He will give you instructions for payment and/or options for ordering the drops. He gets a lot of e-mail so be patient. He is usually quite prompt.

I swear by APL-105, now called Freshkote. I found Dwelle to sting when I first wake up, when my eyes are at their dryest, but otherwise very helpful. Regardless, the relief I get from any of his drops last far longer than anything I've bought at the drug store. I recommend them highly.

Have any of the doctors on the advisory board had any experience with Dr. Holly's drops and have you found good results? How did they compare to other drops like Restasis?

Thanks,
Matt

Hi,

I am a wound care physician in Texas and had Lasix a little over 1 year ago. I never had dry eye problems beforehand and was not screened. I have terrible problems now at night and must use eye gel every night. I have not had my tear ducts plugged. I do fine during the day and rarely need drops during the day.

Q1: Since I likely have anesthesia of my cornea, would plugging my tear ducts work at all?

Q2: Should the next step be tetracycline drops? I have not had my tear production measured...maybe I need that first.

Q3: I had been using GenTeal gel and was satisfied with it. In the last 3 months, it is suddenly no longer stocked. What is the deal? Has it been recalled or is there a supply shortage? I have checked in several states and found the same thing.

Can I use Dr. Holly's at night? I had been using GenTeal gel for severe dry eyes until recently when suddenly it is not stocked anywhere I have looked.

I ordered free samples, no prescription, from www.dryeyezone.com/shop
However, when I received them, I noted that they do contain preservatives, which I noticed that Dr. Trattler frequently suggests against using (if you're a regular user of drops).

When using a drop more than 4 times a day, the preservative in the tear drop can cause some irriation. So perhaps for these drops - use them just a few times a day.

I hope this helps

For Dr. Holly's drops - I do not have extensive personal experience. I have had a few of my own patients use these drops a few years ago.
I do not know for these particular drops at what point the "preservative" may cause an issue. I have been informed that the preservative in these drops is dramatically different from the preservatives found in most other eye medications - and it appears that these preservatives are very well tolerated even when used more than 4 times a day.
So I do not know specifically for these drops as to what the optimal number of times these drops should be used to provide the best benefits.
Hopefully Dr. Holly can comment further on these drops.

Best regards
