HI Dr. Trattler. I have read your responses to many questions and it appears that dry eye syndrome is the culprit for many of the after lasik issues. How do you correct that problem in your office and can you please provide the journal in which your article will be published. thank you very much.

There are many options for treatment of dry eye after LASIK, and it sometimes can take a while to get to the right level of treatment. Possible treatment regimens include:
Restasis
Warm compresses
Preservative free tears and gels
Flax seed oil gel caps
Punctal plugs
Soothe drops (which contain a special oil) can be helpful
Moisture chamber goggles
etc.
