I am going to get Lasik surgery done in a couple of weeks by a doctor that I have done thorough research on. He gets glowing endorsements by everybody I have asked.

My question is, he uses a Summitt Apex Plus Laser, should this be of concern? I know this is early technology but is it outdated?

I used to use the Summit Apex Plus laser for LASIK. It is a very good laser. However, there is now more advanced laser technology which in my opinion provides more consistent and accurate results.

Depending on your prescription, you should do well with the Summit Apex. However, be aware that the most advanced laser technology involves "small spot scanning laser beams and eye tracking technology" which the Summit Apex does not incorporate.
