Hello, I have read most of the forums here which answered a lot of my questions so thank you very much!! One quesiton I do have is, here in Canada, we have a place doing eye surgery called LasikMD. They have a great sale price to get eyes done for very cheap. I'm thinking, is it too good to be true? Now since it's the Dr who really controls the end result. How do you shop for one. The Dr at the Vancouver location, where I would be going, is Dr. Joseph King. (http://www.lasikmd.ca/drjoseph.html) He has done approx 25,000 laser eye procedures and sounds very good and it says he is one of the most experienced in North America having gone to school here, Cleveland, Florida, etc... and has worked in Canada and San Diego. Being that he has done so many surgeries, someone must have heard of him or had their eyes corrected by him. I was told by a friend who works at another LASIK center that someone who has been all over the place and not held down a job for long in one place, you have to ask why? Just wondering if anyone has any good or bad stories they are willing to share about this dr? Thanks very much for your time.

I’m sure you can understand why some people, especially those critical of a doctor, would hesitate to post something on a public bulletin board. Additionally, what is the real value of something posted anonymously? I suggest that you provide an email address where those who have comments can contact you directly. I’m sure you will receive more candid responses.

Thank you for the reply. Not sure why people would hesitate to ask about doctors especially those who have 25000 procedures under their belt. Chances are, someone knows of them. I didn't realize I posted anonymously as my name and city are there and replies are supposed to go here for all to read. If there is something good or bad to be known about this doctor, I'm sure the public would like to hear it especially since so many Americans travel to Canada to get laser eye surgery performed. This particular place I'm looking at getting my procedure done at is very cheap and therefore very desireable to many. If the doctor has a good or bad track record, shouldn't people know this vice me keeping it to myself?? Anyways, I would appreciate any experiences people have had with this doctor. LasikMD says he is very good, however, he hasn't been there very long which is why I'm trying to find out more of a history like from maybe those who had him when he was doing this in SanDiego? Thanks.....

I think people don't mind posting their feedback on a message board. Case in point, hundreds of web-site by LASIK patients saying how bad their surgeon or the LASIK surgery is. I think his comment is to discourage people from posting feedback publicly. Similar to the blue wall used by police or the concept that those in the industry need to stick together.

I assure you that conspiratorial concerns are unwarranted. If someone wants to post here publicly, there is nothing stopping them. I want this person to get the information requested, and it may be more candid and verifiable if delivered privately by a person willing to identify him or herself. That is the motivation of my suggestion.

I'm going to have Zyoptix performed at LasikMD in Windsor, Ontario next week and I'd like to hear opinions and see answer to his questions.
