I had monovision & am due to go back for my 3 mo checkup in early December. Compared to what I had before, I'm very happy. But with my lasiked right (dominant) eye, I see double vision on street signs (the sign itself, then a "mirror image" slightly below & on top of it). Otherwise my vision would be perfect. The halos I see at night (not bad) are from my non-lasiked eye--no halos when I cover it. So the double vision is my only complaint. Can this be fixed with an enhancement? Could it be worse after one? Also, does the fact that I work 8 hrs on close-up & computer work during the week have any effect on far vision? Otherwise, the monovision is working fine.

Monday I had my 11 wk checkup. They took a picture of my eye & the "ghosting" image I see below signs is from a bubble or something on the surface of my eye. It showed up as a yellow area. Compared to my last visit in September, it is better. The doctor said to come back in February & see if it gets better on its own. She said there was a 70% chance it could be improved, 20% that it would be the same, & 10% that it would be worse (with enhancement). Said I might get rid of the double image, but I might be seeing 20-30 instead of 20-20. So I guess I'll just have to wait & see.

did your doctor note the bubble when examining your eye with the microscope (slitlamp) or when performing a corneal topography. If the latter, you may be describing a central island.
I hope the "bubble" improves

With the latter (I guess "central island"). What are the chances of it getting better? It's kind of like I'm looking through binoculars that are slightly out of focus. I hate to complain--I know I got really good results compared to some of the others on this web site. Thanks for your response.

I do not know if you are referring to a central island, so it is so hard for me to comment on whether your eye will heal on its own. Your doctor gave you her opinion on the success rate of an enhancement, which as you said was a 70% chance of improvement. If you do indeed have a central island, you may want to wait for customized corneal ablations. This is a way in which the cornea is mapped and than the information on the map is plugged into the laser for the laser treatment. There are currently no approved systems available in the US, but a few will soon be available (I hope).
I hope this is helpful
