I have already been examined for the post lasik surgery. I have been told that if your pupil is over 7.5 and you have a high astigmatism, there is a good chance of seeing halos and bright lights at night. Could you please tell me what measurements of the pupil and level of astigmatism would make you a good candidate. Also, has anyone ever gone blind from this procedure?
My pupil measures 6 and my astigmatsim is at 1. The doctor said that I have healty eyes, and there should be no chance of complications.
Also, Would you have any information regarding the facility Laser One, and the Surgeon's name is Dr. Richard S. Koplin. They are located in New York City.
Thank you.

You are definately not ready for LASIK and you need to gather more information. There is no such thing as a guarantee of no complications with LASIK or ANY type of surgery for ANYTHING. I find it hard to believe that a surgeon would say such a thing. I suspect you must have misunderstood what he/she said. Go back and get a clarification to your questions or get a second opinion. Yes, there is always the unlikely possibility of losing the eye entirely with surgery. On the other hand, we take risk in getting killed in a car accident but we still drive cars. Good luck.
