I've always had extremely poor vision in my right eye, but my left eye had always been sufficient to pass driving tests and it has always been dominant for main vision so I never worried about glasses. A few years ago my vision in my left eye got worse, to the point where its becoming a real hindrance on the road.

My left eye is bad, but not horrible, maybe a little worse than the minimum for driving tests and I can see close just fine. The last time I had my right eye checked, it was barely better than legally blind, not sure if that means anything. I thought about skipping glasses and going directly to laser correction, but I keep reading something about "stable vision", which seems to suggest I would need to wear glasses or contacts for at least a short time. Is this true? IS it possible for me to not bother with glasses and get laser correction, or would I have to wear glasses for at least a short time first?
