Hi! I just completed my eyes test for lasik and was diagnosed to have keratoconus. Is it possible that i was breastfeeding (stopped 2 weeks ago) to cause the changes in the cornea? Should i do a retest 6 mths later?

There is nothing in the literature that directly shows breast feeding could cause an inaccurate diagnosis of keratoconus, however you should be evaluated again in six months anyway.
You may also want to seek an evaluation with a Pentacam as well as an Orbscan.

KC is a contridiction for lasik. However intacs usually work very well and often improve KC. discuss this with your doctors. Intacs will also improve your uncorrected vision

It is entirely possible that one of the tests used during the LASIK evaluation was more sensitive at detecting the keratoconus.
I would never discourage anybody from getting a second or third opinion about a condition like keratoconus. The question is, whose opinion are you going to throw out if they differ? You will still be under a cloud of suspicion regarding the keratoconus. Personally, I wouldn't want to find out that I indeed had keratoconus after I got LASIK.

Greg Gemoules' advice is very wise and sound, Pearl. Even if you do get a contrary opinion, who are you going to believe? If it later turns out you do have some form of keratoconus, LASIK would be very problematical for you as it might well lead to the need for a corneal transplant somewhere down the line. So, to second Greg's opinion, unless the original diagnosis of KC can be convincingly refuted, I would pass on LASIK. The risk would just be too great.
