After lasek:
I have a droopy eyelid post surgery (left eye). Could it be due to the steriod drops? My doctor reduced me to two drops per day this week.
After 6 weeks, I am only at 20/40 vision in my left eye. Is there any chance that it could actually move to 20/20? Should I have the left eye LASEK'd again to improve it?
Background: Both eyes at -2.75 ish. Thin corneas (480), age 40, Lasek in left due to risks (large pupil and thin corneas). Left eye flap would not adhere in 4 days - I had to wear the contact lense for two weeks until it stuck. No redness, swelling, pain or anything like that during, post-op, and post surgery. Little to no haze other than that flap taking time. We did LASIK in the right eye since the left eye responded so slowly. Not only did the LASIK have no pain, redness, etc, but I was 20/20 the next day with zero problems 6 weeks out - in the right. If I did it again, I'd take the risk in the left and go LASIK. It was a Wavefront laser.

it is way to early to speculate as to whether you may need additional surgery. Your delay in epithelial healing has resulted in some early haze, which can reduce the vision. Steroids, oral vitamin C, and treatment of any dry eye are important to help reduce and eliminate the haze. Computer users have to be very carefull, as they tend to blink less and have more dry eye, leading to more haze issues.
Steroids can cause a droopy lid. Once the steroids are stopped, typically the droopy lid resolves. You should still make sure there is no other cause of the droopy lid (ask your doctor).
As you are probably aware - all procedures have risks. If you read through other messages - you will find plenty of patients with problems after LASIK who only wish they could have had LASEK. The point is that with either surgery there are risks.
I hope things continue to improve, and feel free to ask further questions. I am very experienced with cases like yourself - and sometimes the haze issue can be frustrating - but with time, treatment and also prevention of further haze (by wearing sunglasses when in sunny weather) - the haze should eventually resolve.
Best of luck
