Hello, My name is Jay and as you may guess I'm considering having lasik done... My #1 concern is picking the very best surgeon in my area-__Orlando Florida__ (cost is absolutly NOT a factor...for quality) I don't know exactly who is the best but so far the name FILUTOWSKI has come up a bunch of times...

Konrad Filutowski, M.D.
Founder, Chief Surgeon & Medical Director
Dr. Filutowski has performed over 15,000 LASIK procedures and over 16,000 Cataract procedures. This qualifies Dr. Filutowski as one of Central Florida’s most experienced LASIK & Cataract surgeons.

Filutowski Cataract & LASIK Institute
Veranda Park 2295 South Hiawassee Road, Suite 101
Orlando, Florida 32835

My father is supportive (farsighted), but my mom, being nearsighted like me for life is paranoid about everyone. She thinks that Filutowski does too much advertising and thinks this guy does surgery like patients were cars on a ford automotive line... He has 3 multimillion dollar facilities. I have not done any free consultations yet with any surgeons...

My contact prescription box says:

Right Eye: REG SOFT CONTACT
Power = -3.00
SAG = 3.75
DIA = 14.1 (I think DIA of colored portion not pupil?)

Left Eye: Astigmatisim TORIC CONTACT
BC = 8.6
DIA = 14.1
POWER = -3.00 / -0.75x110

Could you please tell me what BC and -0.75x110 and SAG are???

My vision is an absolute neccessity and needs to be top notch for I'm an Mechanical Engineering Student at UCF and both READING and DISTANCE need to be as best as possible... I understand that surgery is not always perfect, but I need some very truthfull expectations... The default that many doctors say is that vision can be 20/40 or better (covering their bases just in case???) I don't know how bad 20/40 is compared to 20/20, but I'm a little worried that 20/40 will cause my ability to see far and more importantly upclose to be just not good enough... I have to believe that their are other True Engineers out their that have had this done and have had perfect results...

I would also like to know:
-0n average how many touch up procedures can be done if I'm not happy, dependent upon thickness.
-Can I ever go back to contact lenses just in case... VERY IMPORTANT FALLBACK
-How can I tell at home if my eyes produce enough tears.

Please anyhelp would be appreciated...

Typically - consultations are free. So go to 3-4 and get an idea of which doctor you like the best.

I hope this helps
