I don't know a lot about eye corrections. Who can tell me who would have the better vision a person who requires a -1.50 to correct or a person who requires a -3.25 to correct

It is my understanding that the higher the number, the worse your eyes are.

someone who is -1.5 almost doesnt need correction except maybe for driving. Lasik would be a huge mistake, especially if hes over 40 since he will trade up for reading glasses. -3.25 requires part time correction but can see clearly from about a foot.

Where is this distaste for Ace coming from? Has he hurt you personally? He doesn't seem to have malicious intentions and his advice seems quite decent for a neutral party. Maybe you should direct your efforts to a more positive endevour.

I think this situation with you and poeple posting who are not doctors or who don't mention they are docs, needs to stop. This is getting very old and nobody seems to be listening to you. We are all here reading at our own risk. Stop turning this sight into a place for you to start trouble.

isn't to provide Ace a play area. He should go play with Matthew and the flappers at their site.

People who have had the surgery posting about their experiecnes are fine but Ace is just a wierdo with no training and no experience who answers almost every post here. What's worse he interviews people as if he were in some way qualified and then advises them on a course of action.

And no Kelly, you do not speak for other visitors to the forum. You don't know what other people are thinking when they read Ace's posts.

I will continue to follow Ace's posts asking what his qualifications are so that everyone knows the source of the information he is posting.

The greater the number, the greater the refractive error, the worse the vision. We have an article on how to read a prescription at http://www.usaeyes.org/faq/subjects/script.htm

This is a board to discuss refractive surgery, whether it be bad or good. You seem to be the only one here who is contributing absolutely nothing what-so-ever reagarding this topic. Why do YOU care so much that Ace is actually trying to contribute? Everyone knows Ace is not a doctor on this site. If you haven't noticed, the doctors on this site have their post headings appear in bold red and make it clear that they are a doctor! No one is fooled, and I for one appreciate non-doctor opinions because they are another point of view. But we all know to take any opinion (doctor or not) and weigh it heavily when making decsions.

I cannot believe that you actually have nothing better to do with your time than to come on this website and attack people. Are you that lonely???

I know you have an agenda but you also have a website dedicated to that.

Now you're making personal attacks. I think the 'why do you post here' question is one that Ace should answer. I'm not here pretending to be an expert. I don't have a need to develop a fantasy life on the internet.

I have had the surgery and respond when a question can be answered by describing me experience I'm not pretending to know more than I know.

What is my "agenda" David? To describe my negative Lasik experience? Is that different than someone describing their positive experience? Would they also have an "agenda?" As far as I know this is a discussion forum about refractive surgery. If describing my negative experience is an "agenda," then I guess I have one in your eyes. If you haven't noticed, 95% of the people who post here are not doctors. Why don't you question everything about them also instead of exclusively Ace?

Most of the nondoctors here are posting questions or posting about their experiences. Legitimate first hand experiences.

Ace has no experience and his status isn't clear to new pepple. I thought Ace either had experience or was in the mediical community when I first came in here. But he doesn't. He's just a kid with a fantasy that he has some expertise. He is not qualified to answer questions here. As long as he continues to play doctor I'll continue to make his status clear every time he posts.

Yes, your first post clearly shows you have an agenda.

Again, the forum is ASK LASIK DOCS not ask a random wacko.

You'd think maybe the people that run this board could take care of managing who posts here and the content involved. Did someone put you in charge of this responsibility and I just didn't get the memo? Oh wait, it must be your agenda to go to bulletin boards and contribute absolutely nothing of value. I get it now. Sorry to question your methods.

First of all how do you know ace didn't have the procedure? Second even if he didn't, how do you know that maybe he looked into it, did his research, like everyone else does in this situation, and found some useful information to pass along to others. I for one welcome anyones insight to this procedure. I had prk done back in Jan. of this year and although I'm happy with my results I'm not 100% healed yet. So I read these boards to get any reply I can relate to or get any info that "may" be helpful. Notice I put the word may in quotes. Any info we read does not make it real or correct. Like I've said before, it is up to the individual to look for information and check to see if the info they receive is correct.

I've read your correspondence with Bryce Carlson. It turned into a mess. It sounded like all you cared about was proving him a fraud. He proved you to be a nut. After some hateful words I noticed that all your responses were removed from these boards. Why is that? Is someone trying to tell you something?

Please back off your vandetta against people on these boards. You're ruening it for many.

Kelly

He did post personal attacks when I pointed out thet his 'published articles' were on a web site run by a shill. Bryce is also unqualified to interview and diagnose patients.

Thes site exists to provide reliable medical information not t provide a home for Ace or other people who want to pretend to be experts.

I will continue to identify misleading posters. I won't be dragged into responding to personal attacks.

Nobody is trying to pretend to be experts. I truly believe everyone here is trying to help people, including ace. Nobody has to state they are doctors. Any doctor responding to a thread has a "Doc" icon with there message. Anyone who visits these boards should know this. It's not your job to identify people posting on these boards. Ace has never stated he is a doc. Actually anything I've read posted by ace seems to be accurate. He's never said anything hateful or hurtful to people. It's up to the individual to take what they read as facts or not.

I respect what you have to say to anyone who is looking to have the same procedure as you did and I'm sure many, including myself, value any info you or anyone else has to say to help us learn and gain information to better our knowledge on Lasik, prk, epi-Lasik etc.. When I read information here that strikes my interest I always further my research and look into that information. I do not take what I read as accurate until I prove it as so.
