I have noticed that my eyes strain and seem to get "tired" more easily since my surgery a year ago. Therefore, I yawn more. I definitley think there is some kind of connection. I am not a doctor though and this is just my opinion.

Yes, my eyes do feel dry. I am however, trying to figure out if allergies play a role in this or if it's just the surery. I have never had allergies that affect my eyes until (maybe) this year. They feel sticky, (especially the left), sometimes I get a foreign object sensation, and my lids feel like they are on fire sometimes. My eyes just never feel "comfortable" anymore.

Each case is different it seems. I am a over a year out. From roughly 2-6 months my eyes were really dry. I was putting in drops all the time. At 6 months though my eyes actually felt a lot better. It's only after just over a year that I started getting these "allergy" type symptoms. One thing I have noticed, in my case at least, is that things can sporadically change with time. I also had eye pain, but that seems to have subsided. Don't just think that you won't get better. You are actually still within the recommended healing process range, so it is still quite possible your symptoms will get better. One thing I can recommend is to see as many doctors as you are able to, cause unfortunatley medicine isn't an exact science and you may find different opinions and solutions. How is your eyesight by the way?

I have allergy symptoms like itchy eyes, a feeling of dryness in the eye, and a goopy or sticky substance on my eye. A doctor I went to said my tears look fine, but she checked my eyelids and said it looked like allergies may be the problem. She prescribed an eyedrop and it seems to be helping, but my eyelids still feel dry and my eyes never feel as comfortable as they did before the surgery. I am going to make an appt with another doctor to get tested for allergies. This will hopefully pinpoint what I may be allergic to. I say "may be allergic to" because I have never had these symptoms until this year. So I don't really know if my symptoms are from the surgery or allergies. I do however, still have poor eyesight including "ghost images" and overall somewhat blurry vision. Basically, I can get by during the day but I can't read very well and nothing is as fun as it used to be. Hopefully contacts can help this.

The wind and airconditioning seem to dry my eyes a little, but it doesn't seem to be aything abnormal at this point. I guess they are a little worse at work which is an enclosed environment with the ac on.

I am in Maryland currently, but am from Oregon.

Good thing you have good vision at least. Just how bad are your dry eyes???
