I am now 5 months post monovision epi lasek and still suffer from dry eyes. One of the most frustrating aspects is that frequently I have perhaps one week of pain and symptom free eyes and I begin to hope that i am over the worst when all of a sudden it returns with a vengeance. I then begin the analysis of everything I have done to see what may, if anything, be triggering the reoccurrence. My question is is this part of the healing process?

Lasik induced temporary dry eyes continues to be the most common problem reported during the normal six-month healing process. The fact that your eyes will become symptom free for a period of time can be an indication that full resolution is just around the corner.

We have a detailed article on Lasik and dry eye at http://www.complicatedeyes.org/dry_eye_treatment.htm

Thanks for that Glenn, I am at the stage where I will grasp any glimmer of hope and as I rapidly approach the magic 6 month point so the more desperate I become. I wonder if you could clear up one point for me please? I had epi lasek treatment on my right eye only but have dry eye symptoms in both eyes! Is this normal?
Thanks again, I am from England and it is nice to know that the dry eye fraternity can reach across oceans!
