Would nearvision ck be an option to regain my close-up vision? Since lasik has improved my distance somewhat I am having a difficult time dealing with two to three sets of readers to get thur my work day. Roughly 60 days out from surgery and I am starting to calm down thanks to all the responses this forum has provided. While I said in the past I was game for readers for close-up I did not sign up for 2' to 10' blurry vision. Again would nearvision help this or am out of luck.

I too was corrected for distance vision and lost my mid range. It is very frustrating. My doctor has suggested to undercorrect one eye to try to pull in mid range. something like monovision but not exactly. I would still need glasses for reading, but be able to see mid range. I am deciding what to do. Contacts could work too. Just use one + contact to pull in mid range. What has your doctor told you as a solution? I would like to know.

Thanks for the response I am not due to go back to doc until May 10th. He mentioned something similiar to what you described, but this guy always has one foot out the door as I am speaking to him. I'll tie him down on my next visit and fully intend to go for a 2nd opinion. I was a poor canidate at best for this surgery and he should have sent me packing. I have given up a requirement to wear glasses only when driving,tv,movies, golf. Now I need 3 sets of readers to get thru the day (for near and mid) and I am so pissed at myself I gave up my golf membership. Yikes

many presbyopes are supprised to find out how blurry their near and intermediate vision is when they correct for distance. If they were high myopes, they dont mind as much but its a disaster if your a low myope. Instead of having 3 pairs of readers, why not get bifocals, trifocals or progressive glasses and wear them full time except for distance?
