I went to the doctor yesterday and he told me my left eye is 20/20. I did read the leters and numbers but they were blury. Is this really 20/20 as long as you can read the numbers and letters?

How much of the 20/20 line were you able to read? If you couldnt read most of that line, I guess you can consider yourself 20/25 in that eye. If your quality of vision is acceptable, then good. I cant correct to 20/20 either with glasses

I had custom Lasik done 4 days ago and while I can see I have a haze or a blur especially while looking at lighted or contrasting objects, like the eye test chart. I could read most of the 20/20 but it was very out of focus. One eye "rated" at 20/20 and the other at 20/25. The doctor said the blur will go away eventually. Is this what you have been told as well?

When doctors tell you that you see 20/20 they are talking about visual acuity. That basically just means what you can see. It does not count for visual quality, which is what most of us have a problem with. Lasik docs like to tell you that you are 20/20 like that is good enough. Sure you can see the eye chart, but the quality might be thrown off by the multiple images or haze, etc. It's really a poor way to determine a refractive surgery patients eyesight.

Bill,
4 days out reading the 20/20 line is an excellent result. Your vision QUALITY shuould continue to improve in the next weeks and months, including a reduction of the haze and glare you're describing.
