Today we have Lasik, PRK, etc. Is something better coming up. In the near future, are we going to have the technology to improve our vision without going trough all this Laser and complications? Is there anything better coming soon?

I read something about OrthoK. It says its an alternative to Lasik but has been around for a while. Is this better than Lasik, PRK, Lasek, etc.? Is there anything better than this? I know that most people in the Lasik business will not tell people about future improvements because they want to get the profit out of Lasik first. But can anyone expand on this subject?

I would love to hear a doctors point of view on this. They are
already using more advanced lasers and new topographic
equipment outside the US (FDA). I wonder if they will eventually be
able to permanently reshape the cornea without removing tissue.
Perhaps lens implants or some other technology will eventually be
able to correct all types of refractive error without changing the
cornea. I also wonder if future technology will be able to help those
of us who have been injured by current technology. Good question.

I think orthoK is due for a comeback. Research is underway to improve the effecientness of orthoK. I also read about other technologies, including new lasers.
