I am 3 weeks post PRK. when I went for my 3 day check my right eye was 20/50. The bandage contacts were removed since they were really bothering me(never could sleep in contacts) the dr had said that day my right eye had healed and my left was almost. When I went back this past week my right eye is still at 20/50. the dr said there were some epithelium irregularites. My left eye is at 20/30 and both eyes I read at 20/25 but the line was blurry. I do have the blurriness as the day goes on, and when looking into the distance it is blurry. I find myself squinting lately. Will this epithelium irregularity resolve with time? Is this the same as when you hear that the cornea has to be smooth for clear vision? Thanks for any help

It took me 12 months to get to my best vision after PRK in 11/2004. My vision fluctuated a lot in the first few months. It would go from bad to good to fair to bad to good for months... Remember to do your drops as directed by your doctor. I now see 20/20 R and 20/25 L. I had horrible vision pre-op (-7.5 and -7.0). I'm glad I had PRK done. Be patient and don't be afraid to ask your doctor questions.

I am 2 weeks post-op PRK. I had lasik a yr ago and this was an enhacenment. It took my viviosn after lasik about 4-5 months to stabilize. My doc said it would be months after the PRK before my vision would stabilize. Thisgs are pretty fuzzy now and one eye is way better than the other. I understand why the vision would fluctuate initially in the early healig stages, but I am just curious as to why it continues to do so for months. Did your dr explain why?
